Continuity is the whole model

About Home Care in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Every agency can supply hours. The difference between an arrangement that lasts three years and one that collapses in six weeks is almost always whether the same person keeps turning up.

A small agency organised around one thing

Non-medical home care along the north-east Broward coast. Washing and dressing. Getting safely from one room to another. Cooking. Keeping the place in order. Somebody to talk to. Private pay, billed hourly.

What families remember about home care is almost never the task list. It is whether they had to explain the tea situation, the stiff back door and the business with the left knee to a different person in March, in April and again in May. Every one of those conversations quietly transfers the management of the arrangement back to the family.

So the agency is built the other way round. One aide holds a household. A single named substitute is agreed at the start. Visit times are set from the family's diary rather than from our staffing board, and the supervisor who introduced the aide is the person who reads the notes afterwards.

It makes us slower to start than an agency that can fill a slot tomorrow, and it means we occasionally say no to a time we cannot hold reliably. Both of those are the cost of the thing families actually want.

How a name is chosen

Four things are weighed before anybody is put forward, and availability is the last of them.

01

Temperament first

Two aides with the same certificate land completely differently in the same front room. How fast they work, how much they talk, how they handle being refused — that is what a household lives beside.

02

How far they travel

Distance erodes punctuality long before it shows up as a missed visit. Whoever lives nearest the address is considered first, which is why our coverage map follows our staff.

03

Whether they can hold the slot

An aide who can be relied on at 7am five days running is a different proposition from one who suits a single long afternoon. We match to the hours you cannot move.

04

Who covers the gaps

The substitute is picked at the same time as the main aide and introduced the same way. Holiday cover is not an improvisation.

Tell us about your week

Not a medical history — your own diary, and the hour in it that keeps falling apart. The match gets built out of that.

The same face, week after week

It sounds modest. It is the difference between an arrangement that holds and one that quietly falls apart.
